what types of (financial) support are available?
EIC Accelerator offers start-ups and SMEs grants for technology development (TRL 5/6-8/9) combined with equity investments for scaling up innovation (TRL 9+) with the potential to create new markets or disrupt existing ones.
Applications can be submitted either to EIC Accelerator Open with no predefined thematic priorities or in response to a thematic or, challenge-based portfolios, which currently are:
Novel biomarker-based assays to guide personalised cancer treatment
Aerosol and surface decontamination for pandemic management
Emerging semiconductor or quantum technology components
Novel technologies for resilient agriculture
Customer-driven, innovative space technologies and services
Short proposal
Short proposal – 5-page application form, a pitch-deck of up to 10 slides, and a video pitch of up to 3 minutes – submitted on the
AI Platform
Evaluation result of short proposal within approximately 4 weeks.
Full proposal
Full proposal – business plan and a detailed overview of the company´s finances and organizational structure – due on one of the following cut-off dates: 11 January, 22 March, 7 June, 4 October 2023 (17:00 CET).
Result of the remote evaluation and feedback within approximately 5-6 weeks.
Interview
Interview with EIC Jury Members 8-9 weeks after the cut-off date.
Outcome of the face-to-face interview approximately within 2-3 weeks.
Award procedure
Signing of a legal commitment with EIC in the form of a grant agreement.

Plug In Scheme
As of January 2023, Applied Research Programme (RUP) has been certified as a Plug In Scheme to EIC Accelerator. EAS/KredEx as the responsible funding body for RUP carries out dedicated project reviews to assess the innovation or, market deployment potential, of RUP beneficiaries, who are are then invited to submit their proposals directly to the full proposal stage of the EIC Accelerator.
